About me
I started writing for The Tab, an online student news organisation, during my time at Sussex University.
For the first two years I was a writer, covering news, features and anything in between – from drinking excessive amounts of hangover-free prosecco, to interviewing a tube driver about suspected terror attacks. In my final year, I became my team’s features editor and got to commission, edit and write a lot of exciting stories.
Since graduating from Sussex University in 2019, I have completed a string of placements at various publications in London including Hearst (Cosmopolitan, ELLE, Country Living, House Beautiful etc.) Time Out London and The Telegraph.
I have also launched my own Instagram blog covering local food, drink and culture. This blog has grown into personal brand (@BethDohertyMedia) with a dedicated following and has become a trusted platform for people looking for somewhere to eat, drink, play or stay.
Bringing us to today, I am currently the Head of News and Content at Love Salisbury and Salisbury Radio. Here, I co-host the breakfast show with Craig Hicks, as well as writing all of the local news stories for South Wiltshire and West Hampshire. I bagged an interview with Rishi Sunak in a pub once, but he didn’t get PM so we will gloss over that.
I have a cat called Mr Darcy, I drink way too much coffee and if it looks like it belongs on Instagram, I have probably been there.
